As we wrap up the 2020 softball season, we have two important updates for you.

Registration for the 2021 South Bay Quakes Rec Softball Season is OPEN!

As the days get shorter and colder, our softball players are looking toward spring when they can get back out on the field with their friends and play ball.

Right now, we’re hoping for a return to a somewhat normal spring season. In order to prepare for the season while acknowledging the uncertainties related to COVID-19, we have implemented a Reservation system. You will not be charged any fee at the time of registration. As we get closer to the season and are certain that we will be able to play the season, we will communicate a specific date where fees will be applied to all players. At that time, you can log back into your account and provide a payment method. We will give you at least 2 weeks to pay on your account, and we anticipate this being around 30 days before the start of league play.

Click HERE to register your player now. We are also currently accepting registrations for volunteer coaches.

General information about our Spring Rec program, as well as lots of other information about our league, can be found at https://www.southbayfastpitch.org/quakes.

New Inferno Program

Since the founding of Quakes, there have been two player development paths within the organization.

The first has been the path that most players follow which begins with our spring Rec season. Those players have the option to try out for an “All-Star” (‘B’ or ‘C’) team which plays through the summer and potentially some in the fall.

The second has been our full travel ball path (sometimes referred to as Quakes Elite) which follows the traditional A-ball schedule of forming in December for highly competitive play through the following spring, summer, and potentially fall.

Because both have been called Quakes, it’s not always been clear to players within or outside the organization how a team is running or the expectations on the experience.

In an effort to bring clarity and distinction between the two player development paths, we have created South Bay Inferno Fastpitch. These teams will run at a highly competitive level and will operate as either ‘A’ or ‘B Select’ (or a mix of both).

Players interested in a more competitive option can try out for Inferno. Those that don’t make an Inferno team are encouraged to play in the spring Rec season and to try out for a Quakes summer team. Tryouts for 2021 Inferno teams will be happening on Saturday, November 28. If you require a private tryout, please let us know. If you are interested in trying out for Inferno, please register here.

More information about our Inferno program can be found at https://www.southbayfastpitch.org/inferno.

Thanks for all of your support, we are excited for another fantastic season of softball!
